Aside from the ads for consumer stuff like shower-in-a-can and armored pantyhose (!), they're filled with stuff the characters read about and drool over in vain. The thing to remember about the Chromebooks is that they're NOT equipment guides for the players: they're style guides, in-game mail order catalogues and fashion mags more than anything else. In CP2020 houseruling usually leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

I find the system works well (except for the Netrunning rules, which are f**king infernal) IF YOU PLAY BY THE BOOK. + most everything else according to personal taste It was f**king DRMed so when I rebuilt my PC- hey ***ing presto my PDF didnt work any more! Good job it was free.

I'm pretty sure I got a copy of Night City on a free download from Drivethru RPG a while back. The Solo of Fortune suppliments are quite good for 'feel' if nothing else. Pacific Rim has extra rules for Martial Arts which are useful, Protect and Serve is good too. Home of the Brave didn't do much for me, Rough Guide UK was a terrible fanboy job useful only for comic purposes, the Chromebooks can be a bit over the top, but there are some useful goodies in there too.

Of the rest (IMHO), Max Metal is only really usefully if you're running a high powered quasi-military game and is far removed from the Gibson grittyness of the core book. Blackhands Street Weapons is just a compilation of weapons from the other books. As several others have said, Listen Up, You Primitive Screwheads is well worth buying even if you don't run a CP2020 game, Night City sourcebook is invaluable too as lots of Cp2020 cannon occurs in or around Night City.
